Rare in North America, Karakul are a fat tail sheep native to Central Asia. Karakul are possibly the oldest domesticated sheep breed. The fleece has a coarse, long, hair outer coat and a soft, short undercoat. It is fabulously feltable, exceptionally insulating and extremely strong.
