    The Sheep and its wool

    Rare in North America, Karakul are a fat tail sheep native to Central Asia. Possibly the oldest domesticated sheep, the fleece has a coarse, long, hair outer coat and a soft, short undercoat. It is fabulously feltable, exceptionally insulating and extremely strong.
